Extensions can be toned and glossed to blend with your color, and minor adjustments are common. However, we don't recommend lifting (bleaching) extensions after installation, as the processing can compromise the integrity of the hair and reduce longevity. If you're planning a color change, it's best to discuss it before your installation so we can select the right shade from the start.

Partial applications or specific methods like CombLine can be completed in as little as 45 to 90 minutes.

Your free consultation typically takes 20 to 30 minutes and covers everything: an assessment of your natural hair's health, thickness, and texture; a conversation about your goals; a recommendation for the best extension method; color selection and strand count planning; and a detailed price quote with no hidden fees. There's no obligation to book.

How should I prepare for my installation appointment?

Arrive with clean, dry hair — no oils, dry shampoo, or heavy products. Skip serums and leave-in conditioners the day of your appointment. Wear a button-down or zip-up top so you don't disturb your hair pulling clothing over your head. If you color your hair, schedule that at least one week before your extension appointment. Danielle will send you a prep guide when you book.

When professionally installed and properly maintained, no. Great Lengths uses a plant-based keratin bond (not glue) that is gentle on the hair shaft and scalp. Danielle will always assess your hair health first and will tell you honestly if your hair isn't in a condition to safely support extensions.

Yes — Great Lengths extensions are 100% real human hair, so you can blow dry, curl, and straighten them. Use sulfate-free, extension-safe shampoo and conditioner, apply conditioner and masks to the mid-lengths and ends only, brush from the ends up with a soft-bristle or loop brush, let bonds dry completely before sleeping, and always use a heat protectant.

Can I swim, work out, and be active with extensions?
